Siegel Evelyn Siegel, age 108, of Minneapolis, passed away on Jan. 13, 2005. She was born in Minneapolis on June 27, 1896. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Leo H. Siegel. She is survived by daughters, Maxine M. Nathanson, Virginia M. (Samuel) Sarat of Minneapolis, and Barbara J. Horwitz of St. Paul; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson; and many wonderful friends. Evelyn spent her adolescent years in Munich, ND, which she described as some of the most fun years of her life. She attended the University of North Dakota in 1914-15. She returned to Minneapolis during Word War I. Evelyn was an accomplished pianist and organist for many years and music was a mainstay of her life. She was an accompanist for Zuhrah Ladies Singers and Scottish Rite Women's Club. She was a life member of Zuhrah Ladies Society and Masonic Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Evelyn was a member of Acacia Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Zuhrah Women's Auxiliary of the Shriner's Hospital, Hadassah, Council of Jewish Women, Adath Jeshurun Congregation, and Temple Israel.
